The Leatherwood Camputer ART Series
There isn't a whole lot of information and reviews on this out there, but what I have read has been pretty good. The cost is reasonable. I'm not a slouch when it comes to math on the fly, but if I don't have to guess the range, it seems like it would be a pretty darn good peice of equipment.
The down side is that I love my Mueller scopes, especially with the illuminated reticles, but this seemed too interested to not give a least a cursory examination.
Anyone have any direct experience with them?
How about inderect experience.
I have not exercised my google-fu, as I am not using google anymore.

If you are unwilling to give another man freedom in his life, do not expect to have it in your own.
It surely beats trying to figure out what the metrosexuals want ( a good hard kick in the nuts in my opinion, but that won't sell ice cream :D )- Highspeed

I hate to drive this off topic in the first reply but is there a specific reason your not using Google anymore?

New record?? 1st reply and we're off to never never land!
Rumors of logging of browsing history, transactions, etc. While I don't know if they can do anything usable with it, I don't like them having the capability.
now, on with the show!
Anyone heard anything about these scopes? Supposedly the U.S. military has been using them for nearly 40 years.

Yeah, they were the Marine Corps scope of choice for the Vietnam War mounting a 3-9x on the Remington Model 700 ADL.
They are quick to calculate distance with and are reported to be consistent in their range finding abilities...
Supposed to hold their POA and shift the corners for precision internal workings although, if I remember correctly, they weren't as fine tuned as a tactical scope is today...I believe they were only ½" increments at 100 yards where scopes now are down to 1/8ths.
Overall quite good scopes, quality glass and relatively inexpensive when compared to Unertl that the Marines now use, S&B, US Optics and Nightforce…

There is a certain type of mentality that thinks if you make certain inanimate objects illegal their criminal misuse will disappear!

Thanks, SeekHer! I actually prefer the rougher adjustments dialing in at 8 clicks per inch is a pain in the ass. I only have so many fingers and toes. they are currently 1/4" clicks so hopefully I won't have to take my shoes off at the range anymore.
Now I need to decide between their mount, or the Sadlak aluminum mount. It's a difference of 50 bucks, but the Leatherwood mount has so many parts, I can see where it might be easier to have issues. More potential failure points and all.

Re: Leatherwood Camputer scopes
I'll happily take medium grade glass at medium low grade price, especially since both the scope and my rifle can surely do better than I can.
Perhaps when i get to the point where I'm outperforming my rifle, I will consider something worthy of the effort and expense i have invested. Seeing as there is a possibility that I won't get to that level, I don't think it would be a bad choice.
