Mad Max Fury Road
After being in development hell for more than two decades the fourth Mad Max movie, "Fury Road" is set to be released next summer. You can see the trailer here. It seems to have allot going for it. I liked Tom Hardy in the movies I have seen him in and they got the original writer/director George Miller on board as well. However this is still a big budget Hollywood movie and we all know what happened the last time Hollywood got it's sticky fingers on the franchise. There is also a video game coming out that if anything seems to be even closer to the original than the new movie. All in all I am cautiously optimistic about both of these, which is as close to excited about something I will allow myself to be until it comes out. Assless chaps for everyone!

Mad Max 2: the Road Warrior is a great film, IMO. I have my reservations about doing MM again. I saw the trailer, lots of CGI spectacle. I think Miller was running out of steam by MM: Beyond Thunderdome, it was a silly movie. Interesting that he's on board for the new one.

Watched the trailer. Had to check if it was directed by Zach Snyder.

It will be interesting to see the ration of CGI to real effects in the new movie. One of the great things bout the old ones is what they were able to do without CGI. Every time a car crashed it really crashed. I saw some documentary or something about how they made it and it was really nuts. This is one of the things I liked about Christopher Nolan's movies, they only used CGI where it was absolutely necessary.

I predict Tron II.
Hollywood pants after franchises, and would rather flog something to death than go original/intelligent.
Then dig it up, plug the neckbolts into the 220V outlet, and try yet again.

{Probably not as gay as the trailers that have been floating around for a decade, though}

Just watched the trailer, and it looks "Michael Bay'ized."

I personally am really bloody tired of franchises.Aesop wrote:I predict Tron II.

The last time I set foot inside a movie theater was for 'Serenity'. In HS, I went to see *everything*. In college I went as often as I could afford, and when I started working my friends and I went to the movies pretty much every weekend. But a steady diet of shit sandwiches gets old.

That sounds both terrifying, and quite humorous - not entirely sure how "furries" work - but the idea of Mel Gibson in a Super Mario style raccoon suit going "Hey Sexy lady!" strikes me as rather hilarious...
