I've only seen bits and pieces of it, but Mrs. O and the step-daughter like to watch together and make comments about the Bimbettes. Step-daughter says it makes her feel better about HER life.
That's the basic function of radio call-in/help shows too.
Two minutes' listening to society's f***ups on something like Dr. Laura or worse, and suicidal people would drop the razor, and run for President.

That show would literally have me go "Urge to kill: Rising"
Obnoxious assholes in Manufacturing? That part's realistic- but with one notable exception*, they're all a bunch of hacks.

*Rick Petko - watched him pound out a gas tank from sheet, and he didn't get into fights, or act like a jackass for the camera.. Just did his job and went home

Same idea at heart as 'Cops'. Turning dysfunction into spectacle for the enjoyment of an audience is an old tradition. Those bimbettes are just modern-day carnival geeks (original meaning), with about as much dignity.

It's interesting, though to see the effects of our bizarre modern Cult of 'Compassion'.

Same reason I used to watch Jerry Springer - every time I used to feel down about being an unemployed bachelor with no money, I'd turn it on and the little voice in my head would whisper, "At least you're not these people!"

Given this why would you be surprised to discover that she is a total airhead? Yes there are some girls who rock the bimbo look and are reasonably, even highly intelligent. But most of the time the packaging matches the inside.

It is worth mentioning that of my ship's relatively small crew, one ended up on the NCIS 10 most wanted list and another ended up on Springer.

Television and the film industry got off track arround 1960 or 65 and now seems go in a direction that lines up with Marx and populist bullshit , with rare exceptions. And as usual you characters seemed to have noticed as well.

No, it isn't, but it doesn't matter.
I try to be kind to groups of people in my act, but I'm from Pennsylvania, so I talk a lot of shit about the Amish, because it never gets back to them.
