We tried this exact same stoopid idea in the 1960s, courtesy of Robt. McNamara >ptui!< and the F-111.
Once the Navy torpedoed their side of it, the Air Force found a way to palm off a few of them, and wash their hands of it for the most part.

This time, they goat-roped all the service chiefs ad secretaries together and put suicide vests on them, so nobody wants to crab sideways now.

But there isn't likely a pilot in any service flying anything who's actually looking forward to this gold-plated turd.
Only the pencil pushers and weenie waxers are doing the cheerleading at this point.

Schwarzenegger was climbing around on a mock-up of one in True Lies way back in 1994!
It was CGI and vaporware then, and it's still vaporware now, twenty years later.

But at least in 1994, it was still okay for good guys to kill terrorist Muslims on film.

And of course, Bruce Willis shot one down with a Hardigg case out the back of a semi in 2007's Live Free Or Die Hard.
Which is to date the only way anyone's ever found to kill the sonofabitch.

????

The only aircraft I recall Ahhhnold being in in that movie was an AV-8 Harrier.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Which was, for some odd reason, reused in the Avengers movie.

The only people who do are CONGRESS

Therefore... The Navy and Marine Corps, and the Air Force, are ALL in "full and enthusiastic support of command directives"...

No, I misremembered True Lies; serves me right for not pulling it off the shelf to check first.
(If Cameron bought any Harriers, they were junked fuselage hulks; the movie was expensive because he and Ahhnuld pulled down >$20M@.)

I did look at the Live Free Or Die Hard clip first, which I also mentioned.

There is really nothing about the F-35 scene in Die Hard that fails to make me laugh.
