I'd be more impressed if they were oval window pre '57 models.

This gay pride thing has really gotten out of hand. I'll tolerate the parades, but driving your VWs on the crosswalk is over the line!!!!

I don't own (and never have owned) a single Beetles album and/or song. And I definately agree they are HEAVILY overrated. Personally, I can't stand them, and I can say the same thing about the Stones too (I could count the number of songs of their I like on one hand - but never liked enough to buy them). I'll take the Who, Clapton, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Genesis, Yes, Phil Collins, Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac (is partially British), Elton John, Emerson Lake & Palmer, ELO, etc.randy wrote:I knew there was a reason we'd get along so well!First Shirt wrote:Between The Boss, and several friends who are, despite my best efforts, Beatles fans, I deal with this schlock on a regular basis. I'm convinced that The Beatles are the most overrated group in the history of music.
When The Boss tries to crank up the White Album, I tend to respond with Steppenwolf, The Rolling Stones, or (just for fun) Lynard Skynard.
Not a fan of the light weight pop/hippy dippy drug music that covers the entire range of their catalog. AFAIK the British Invasion consisted of the Who, Stones, Clapton, etc.

I recognized the image simply due to over-exposure when I was young. That, and my wife has several of their albums (but we don't have a turntable

Do they even make cameras anymore?MiddleAgedKen wrote:See, this is what comes of not having a pun tax.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Which largely led to the split between John and Paul. Lennon used to deride Paul's songs as "Granny Music." Some of that is true but, between the two, I'm more of a fan of Sir Paul.CByrneIV wrote:It is entirely possible to recognize something as occasionally great, but often crap.randy wrote:I knew there was a reason we'd get along so well!First Shirt wrote:Between The Boss, and several friends who are, despite my best efforts, Beatles fans, I deal with this schlock on a regular basis. It is also entirely possible to recognize something as both ACTUALLLY the greatest thing ever (in its field), and still greatly overrated.
The beatles are the most important band in rock and roll history. They wrote a few of the greatest songs in it. They had the greatest impact of any band (only Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page come close, and they are individuals).
... but most of their music is boy band pop.
To REALLY stir the pot, let's have it, Chris. What are those "greatest" songs in history from the Beatles album? <runs and gets popcorn>
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.
