I dunno, plastic receivers on a shotgun don't really do it for me. Tromix is supposed to be coming out with an aluminum lower for the Akdal in a few weeks that may be the hot setup. From what I've seen, people wind up fiddling with them at least as much as I have with my Saiga to make them into something that you'd really want to have.

The issues with the Saigas are twofold. First, as I understand it, the Russians don't have the same kinds of shotgun ammo that we have over here. Theirs tends toward full power combat and hunting loads, while we have ammo that runs the gamut between the heavy loads, and super light trap loads. People who try to run the light (cheap) ammo in a Saiga tend to run into cycling problems.

Second, the Russian QC has been somewhat spotty, particularly when Izhmash was going through their financial problems. According to what I have read, the current production shotguns starting a couple years ago are much more consistent, and the quality issues with insufficient and improperly located gas ports are mostly under control. At the same time, it must be noted that the vast majority of the "bad" and "undergassed" Saigas would still function just fine with the full power ammunition that they are meant to be used with. Again, it is the guys who want to run light trap loads on the cheap who have most of the problems.

As for mine and AlaskaTRX's, they are both 2009 production guns IIRC, and both run fine with buckshot, slugs, and standard trap loads like these. The lighter, "handicap" version of those shells, not so much. I get some jams with those. I'm eventually going to drill another gas port in the barrels, but it's not been a huge priority. You have to be careful not to overdo it, because an overgassed gun will beat itself apart.

Yep, so long as there are magazines, the multitube setup is purely a novelty.
Seems that way, mostly. Though the selectable dual feed could have some potential.

Went in to the MOD today.
They have 13 in stock. They are selling about 6 a week and are getting semi regular shipments.
My guy said the odds are he would have on in stock when you come, but he wouldn't bet on it if you are only in town for the day. Layaway is your friend.

OK, would they mind if I called to put one on layaway? I will have a better idea of when I'm leaving for FL this week. (Another, brief meeting up here on Monday, a meeting tomorrow, and definitely in FL by 2/5)

I doubt they would mind.

Email me and I will reply back with my real name so you can reference me when you call. They ALL know me. Or I can head over there on Monday and put one on layaway, then cancel it when you get there so you can buy it.

Actually, let me go there on Monday, they will probably just set one aside for me for a week, if I ask.

Email me anyway, so we can meet up.

So, a shop in Kel-Tec's backyard, is apparently the only one in the country that has no trouble getting them in stock. Big shocker there.

Precision, hold up on that, I think until I can confirm when I'm heading down - some stuff came up over the weekend, and I'm in SC until Wed - still going to try to be in FL by the end of the week, but I have to get some things sorted first.

There's a guy on Youtube called Hickok45. Check out his channel he has MANY videos of MANY different firearms including both of these new shotguns. He does 15 or more minutes on a gun, shooting it, reloading it, pointing out various features, often taking it apart. Telling how it feels, what he likes and doesn't, etc. His stuff is pretty well done.

You get a good close look at, as good as you'll get short of holding and firing one yourself.

I'm interested in getting some of those CCSpecs mags now... but seriously, if you don't want to have to reload again, 14 rounds can't touch a 20 round drum ;)

I think I have less into my S-12 than one of those KelTec's cost stock!
