Aldi may have bought TJ's, but they didn't invent them.
They are as alike as Fiats and Chryslers.
TJ's has never been snooty. They arose as a working-class counter-culture based on their "Fearless Flyer" handout, touting food quality over high-quantity marginal quality offerings from megamarkets.
That would be a tough sell in ghettostans, mainly for the dearth of actual working-class people who actually work.
There is a flagship store for the EBT class. I believe it's run by Southland Corp., and called 7-11.
Someone should tell them there's a corner available in Oakland.
"There are four types of homicide: felonious, accidental, justifiable, and praiseworthy." -Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary"
Never seen a TJ's, Aldi's 'round here. Good chow, low pricing. Usually their REGULAR price beats sale pricing hollow elsewhere. What's not to like? Beans is beans, bagels is bagels, etc.

She is a unicorn chaser who previously bemoaned the "lack of healthy food options for the poor".
That must have been an interesting conversation. Think she learned anything?

She probably voted for Obama, twice, so, no.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

I have both here, and I shop at neither. Aldi has weird brands, and the fresh produce isn't particularly cheap. Trader Joes is expensive for what they offer(I will say they do carry Empire chicken, but it's pricey).
HTRN, I would tell you that you are an evil fucker, but you probably get that a lot ~ Netpackrat
