Mine is a 2008 OLight T10, a single CR123 light, tail pushbutton on/off and mode, rotating head to select power level. I had to replace the tail switch a couple of years ago but its going strong otherwise. I bought a big batch of Panasonic and Duracell CR123s at the same time (Black Friday) for a very good price, most of which went in a care package to the sandbox. Otherwise I'd have bought a single-AA T15 model.
I gave out a lot of OLight I3s lights for Christmas this year; it had been about 3 years so I updated the brother and sister and their spouses and kids (sort of a tradition; one year Uncle Rich send screaming flying monkeys, next year monkey related accessories (like Anti-Monkey-Butt powder) and gift cards, third year new flashlights)... I'm the only 'flashlight and lantern geek' in the family. Reviews have been great.

I admit it is. I'd put it down somewhere.Greg wrote:If something roughly the size of a roll of nickels is too big for you....

Interesting, because I know you carry. Not quite exactly the way I would do it, but between the keychain light and the extra you carry in your pack I suspect you're covered.Weetabix wrote:I admit it is. (And now between the bad influences of you and HTRN I find myself struggling to not spend more money. Heh.)

Nah, I figured that out, what with you seeming to be determined that any light you carry on you must be attached to your key chain in order to retain it *on* you (you already have the proper behavior patterns w.r.t. keychain retention programmed in and you can leverage that). I was going to suggest something like an EDC pocket organizer, but then I remembered you already also had a bunch of extra stuff in a bag.

A single-AAA penlight is about right for keeping on my person routinely, but in the winter it's probably a good idea to keep something a little larger in your coat pocket.

The most convenient is a little AAA stream light one I had - but they are "semi " disposable as I cannot always get them unscrewed to change the batteries.
I have an EagleTac that takes a CR123 - which is a heck of a light, but a little heavier than is ideal for clipping to the neck of a shirt - where I usually wear my lights.

KEychain or just pocket
shirtpocket penlight Just right for Aesop's scrubs/lab coat.
300 lumen two AA light also come in blue, orange, and silver.
Olight S15 This stays clipped on my cellphone holder. The clip is very strong.
And if you want a really bright(500 lumen) light that runs on 4-AAs, Fenix LD41

Oohhh. I like the magnet feature. This one sounds like a good tool box flashlight.Termite wrote:Olight S15 This stays clipped on my cellphone holder. The clip is very strong.
