Sorry, but once you point guns at the cops, you tend to forfeit the moral high-ground.

Sounds like homeowner had a bit o' crazy in him.Hall had no criminal record, but a neighbor told the Dallas Morning News Hall was a “loner” who lived in a “hoarder’s house.”

I didn't make up the headline. Both it and your version seem to be equally accurate.Yogimus wrote:Sorry, but once you point guns at the cops, you tend to forfeit the moral high-ground.

Oh, I am not blaming you, I blame the idiot who wrote the story. There are some STRONG implications in that story title that do not reflect the truth.

That's why I included the first couple paragraphs of the linked story.
Edit to add: It's not that the headline doesn't reflect the truth; it appears to be exactly what happened. What it does is exploit the tendency to jump to conclusions based on limited information. It's great marketing, and does everything that a title should, because it makes you want to read the rest of the story, and technically doesn't carry any inherent bias.

It does seem like one of those 'we're never really going to know the full thing' stories that lead people to project their own assumptions onto the [lack of] facts.

And wants you to buy the paper to read the story, and thus be exposed to the products of their advertisers.Netpackrat wrote:That's why I included the first couple paragraphs of the linked story.

"Yellow Journalism" at its finest. Create sales for the advertisers.
