‘Run and hide’ is Obama clever plan for next school shooting

I've always taught my daughter, my step-daughters, and my grand-daughters to run if you can, and to fight if you can't run; and if you're gonna fight, fight dirty. Eyeballs gouged out during the fight DO NOT have to be returned after it's all over.

Of course, my daughter started carrying when she was still under-age, and without a permit. I'd rather pay a lawyer to get her out of jail than a mortician to make her look natural.

Running is, I'm guessing, the highest probability choice, unless:

A) It's a Besylan, and the crowd is being herded - running with the herd cannot be high probability.

B) I'm guessing that terrorists and psychopaths react differently to resistance.

C) if the attacker has gotten close enough to actually target you, I'm not so sure running would work - but attacking, unarmed, didn't work too well at Ft. Hood.

"Run and Hide" is pretty effective advice. Of course because Obama said it, we all get pantywads over it...What would you recommend for a 12 year old to do?

My nieces know not to pay ANY attention to their teachers if they hear a gun shot. And trust me, they know EXACTLY what a gun sounds like. They also know to find ANY possible exit and to run until they can't run any more. If that means throwing a chair through a window...So be it.

The kids in Newtown cowered behind their teachers and still got slaughtered.

Given the choice, I want my nieces to at least be hard to hit targets.

Mine have been told to un-ass the area as fast as possible. Both are in HS.

However, Rapides Parish has a SRO deputy at all public schools K-12, and the private schools that request one.
