Which is why I prefer Demolishers. Schreks are great for long range and clean lines of sight. Demolishers are made for urban, or other obstructed, fighting. 2 Ultra 20's should be able to turn most anything into a smoking crater in shirt order. Only real problem is they run out of ammo pretty fast. Or, used to anyway. Of course, at that point, a Hunchback would be better than either.

Because they can still make myomers, but somehow can't make a late 20th century HUD that can show you the aim point.

Light mech, max armor, big engine, jump jets, six CER-medium lasers and enough CD heat sinks to fire them continuously. You can usually have four of them for the same theoretical battle value as one fully maxed assault mech.
Ha! That's exactly what I used to do back in the days of Mechwarrior 2. A Nova with 4-6 medium lasers, jump jets, and a whole lot of heat sinks.

I've figured out the only way to earn C-Bills on an Afghanistan connection is to hide behind terrain in a Catapult as an LRM boat. :P

This. Any state-of-the-1991-art MBT can outshoot the 31st Century's finest. There's only so much belief a body can suspend.

Well it's a medium mech but I do love the Nova. I was once on a BT MUSH where my friends and I were the leadership of the Nova Cat faction. That was fun.

The Nova-P can indeed afford to lose a few of those lasers in exchange for extra heat sinks. Unmodified it's still a delightful mech, but requires some discipline to not, well, explode yourself.

For a while, my friends and I would do online roleplaying games (MUSEs, MUSHs) - think text-only free MMOs, before MMOs as we know them existed. And somehow we would always wind up creating and/or running a school. Usually to train people how to fight in whatever combat system that particular game provided. The BT game where we were the Nova Cat leadership, we also ran a school. As teaching tools we ran a variety of mech combat sims meant to teach particular lessons. One of my favorites was set up as a 1 on 1 duel between a Nova-P and a Summoner-D (the one with 2 ERLL and 2 ERML)- teaches the value of staying at optimum range for your mech like nothing else.

It doesn't really matter; at 500 ping it's all you can do.
