Nice to know Alaskans are all about free speech.

I gotta go with NP on this one. Are we that willing to believe anything Fed. prosecutors and the media say on face value? If the media says a *Republican* senator (who's been reelected many times) is corrupt, I tend to step back and say ... "Hmmmm .... really?"

Now, if it were a *Democrat*, I'd tend to believe it. ;-)

Reminds me of the "sandwich board" scene in Die Harder II. ;-)

If an Alaskan said that, it would be one thing, but for an Outsider to come up here and do it, watch out.

I lived there 8-1/2 years. I voted for him. But I don't remember hearing anything from him or about him except when he was up for re-election.

Illuminate us, NPR, on his service. I say this not as a challenge, but to present you an opportunity.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

His wikipedia article has a pretty good overview of his career, starting with his military service flying cargo planes over the Hump in WW2. To be sure, they also get their digs in at him, but most of the article appears to be factual. Note the picture of his house in Girdwood. Clearly the mansion belonging to a corrupt politician on the take.

i am not so terribly concerned that he may have been involved in some corruption...

he's a politician, they are all corrupt... im more concerned that he was sloppy enough to get caught...

Somebody else made the news up here recently after making a similar statement. It was a member of the jury in his trial...
