Fascinating, to coin a phrase:

I ran across this over at reddit a few days ago, the r/trekkies were beside themselves. Watch the trailer, you may get a surprise... and the redditors were rife with speculation on who the bad guy is...
If you don't get a good look in the trailer, here's a better view:

I've been searching and reading around about the new movie some more... here's the film's site:
http://www.startrekmovie.com/
Might be a better quality vid there. And, those are Klingons shown at 1:30 or so!

Oh yeah, IMAX for this one.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Yup, this and Iron Bloke 3. Anything else worth seeing this year will be a bonus, but I'm not hopeful.

I just don't get Star Trek. Never have, never will. Or Star Wars for that matter.

My wife and I are both looking forward to it. This is one of those movies which is BEST watched on the LARGE screen with a huge sound system (and perhaps even a little vice indulgence prior to watching it - YMMV).
We've watched the previous NEW Star Wars movie at home and wished we'd seen it on the BIG screen. We won't make the same mistake THIS TIME.

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Re: Star Trek: Into Darkness 3rd (Final?) Trailer
I think I've mentioned before that I broke a self-imposed exile of nearly 20 years from movie theaters to see the first new Trek film when it came out a few years ago. I almost wished I hadn't--I thought the movie silly and not respectful of the original canon, as they say. And don't give me any of that alternate timeline BS.
I've since seen it on the small screen several times, I guess I'm used to it. I am looking forward to this one.

I've heard some good things about Oblivion, and that it has a twist in the story..Dub_James wrote:Yup, this and Iron Bloke 3. Anything else worth seeing this year will be a bonus, but I'm not hopeful.
