But as to going to a coffee shop, I can tell you why I go to one.
I didn't really mean it how it might have sounded. It's just like an alien world to me...I'm most likely the one out of step.
All my life I been in the dog house
I guess that just where I belong
That just the way the dice roll
Do my dog house song

what strikes me is not so much the Potemkin individuals as the various organizations that are or are becoming Potemkin.
For example the UN to me is a Potemkin village in New York. Supposedly a force for world peace but actually a club for control freaks, money grubbers, neo-communists, and tap dancers. Take away US funding and how long would it last?
General motors.
EPA.
FAA.
annnnnddddd etc.

There was scion of wealthy Texas family (oil and agriculture) that went out to build his fortune (quote:the first million was hard, the rest was a lot easier) he went heavy into commercial real estate.
He used to go around in Khakis and wasn't real careful about shaving every day. When he got service in a store that was too disrespectful he was known to buy the store and fire the employee who gave him grief. He finally married a country girl who talked him out of dressing down and taking revenge. She told him he was flying false colors, picking on the handicapped, and also missing out on conversations from people who could give him even more information.

Seems we had a thread sometime back about modern women and their cranial rectal insertion.

Best thing my old gf ever did for me was refuse to marry me. She was a loser, but nothing was ever her fault. Most of her problems were caused by men taking all the opportunities and not giving her a chance to succeed. Some were from her not getting a good enough education because she was a girl. Some was just plain mysogyny.

Misandry. Unless it was self-hate.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

No, misogyny, it was HER excuse why she never got ahead. Couldn't admit that she was lazy, under motivated, had a victim mentality and and over active sense of entitlement you know, so it must be because she has a uterus.
