The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Really? ATN nightvision stuff is usually of the highest quality outside of the US and the PVS series. Did you get a get a Gen 1 night vision or Gen 2?

Things have probably changed, this is getting on for 10 years ago. But then they were rubbish, the Gen II tubes were Russian ( as was the rest of the sight - only ASSEMBLED in the US IIRC ) and at the time they hadn't really gotten the hang of quality control. The Gen I were virtually unuseable. What made it worse was a 'Smart' pushbutton control system for things like the IR illuminator, tube gain and reticle brightness which was actually pretty fucking dumb because it didn't remember it's settings and was awkward to use when wearing gloves.
But as I say, that's probably just a history lesson rather than a reflection of what ATN stuff is like now.

Look at SeaHorse cases. I've been a Pelican dealer for years and have many of them, but the cost/weight issue sometimes makes them less than the perfect solution. The SeaHorse cases are lighter, but retain a good locking mechanism, watertight integrity, and lower cost.
I would be happy to sell either of those brands to forum members at cost +, but ONLY if there is any interest AND the mods approved of it. Not looking to make any $$, just offering a service. Once again, this is NOT a solicitation to sling merchandise. Just an offer to help the brethren with mod approval. Not sure what the protocol on that is. Chris can feel free to chime in on that.
I just wanted to mention, that with the removal of all the foam, and the addition of your declared pistol, a Pelican 1560 makes a supremely fine flying suitcase, and you'll never need to have the TSA pawing through your luggage again. The regs say that you have to put firearms in a locked hard case for which only you have the key; they don't say you can't put other stuff in there also.

Sharkbait as far as I can tell that is a very generous offer and thank you for extending it to our members.
Heck, if you want to publish a discount code for the members I personally would have no problem with you posting it and a link to your store on our forum.
