A CCW gets you out of tickets.
I described one pull over here. I got pulled over again last night (wife's tags were expired). The officer kept trying to give my CCW back to me. I finally told him, "I'm supposed to give it to you. It's a concealed carry permit." He asked if I had my weapon on my side, I said yes. He came back, thanked me, and told me he was giving me a warning because I'd been honest with him about the CCW.
Get the CCW.

They do get you out of some tickets. I can speak from experience.

I really should do this as well. I don't think my out-of-state Vermont permit would do me much good if I ever needed to use a pistol to protect myself.
