For the following consoles...
Gamecube: I include this because of the remake of Resident Evil, etc...
PS2
XBox
Wii: Were there really any good ones for this console?
XBox360
PS3
based upon your personal playing experience. I have all these consoles and am just wondering if I missed anything.

Re: Best Survival Horror/First Person Shooters
Let's see... I'll break these up because I avoid FPSes on consoles, preferring a keyboard and mouse for precision and easier inventory access. Survival horror games, not being locked into that perspective, are much more console-friendly. Usually. Also more handy for genre breakdown. Some of the FPSes are partially or entirely in the horror genre, though, I'll mark those with an asterisk.
Also skipping over anything older than the Source engine.
FPS
PC:
Half-Life 2 and subsequent episodes.*
Battlefield 3
FEAR* (the first one, not any of its sequels)
Fallout: New Vegas
Left 4 Dead 1/2* (PROVIDED YOU HAVE HUMAN TEAMMATES)
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines*
Honorable mention: Portal and Portal 2. Not strictly an FPS since you just launch portals from your gun, more of a first person action puzzle game.
Survival Horror
PC: Alan Wake (the sequel, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, is pretty good but more action-oriented, not nearly as creepy and atmospheric).
PS2: Resident Evil 4
X-Box 360:
Alan Wake
Resident Evil 5
PS3:
Resident Evil 5

I second the Left 4 Deads.
Borderlands 1 & 2 are pretty good FPS.
I'm also a Dead Island fan.

I forgot about Bulletstorm. Fun stuff.
"Black" for PS2 was pretty good. The same company that did "Black" is coming out with a WW2 game; just wish I could remember the title.

For me, I still have a soft spot for Blood, on PC of course. I know it was a Doom clone, but it was such good fun shooting cultists and zombies with a flare gun.

Re: Best Survival Horror/First Person Shooters
If you want an amazing FPS that no one really played then you should play The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.
It's part of the Assault on Dark Athena which is currently on Steam and Good Old Games, but Dark Athena is considerably worse than Butcher Bay.
If you are asking how a movie based game especially one on the Chronicles of Riddick is any good, then you should play Escape From Butcher Bay. It does shooting, stealth, melee combat, and adventure elements that do it better than most games that focus on any one of it's given parts.
I found it funny that the melee combat system in Riddick had more depth, and was more fun than Condemned: Criminal Origins which the ENTIRE GAME rotates around melee combat for 8 god damn hours.
Do not play Condemned 1 unless you are playing it for less than an hour. It gets very boring and repetitive after that because you are taking the same 2x4 and whacking the same hobos with the same technique for about 8 hours. It's not even all that scary (except for the locker scene, that was good) and I'm pretty terrified by horror games like Dead Space.

Re: Best Survival Horror/First Person Shooters
I like that movie and I've heard Butcher Bay should be near the top of any XBox all-time greatest list. Thanks for the reminder.
