*sigh*. Yogi, that's just pointless blather, devoid of even an attempt to communicate anything remotely pertinent or useful...

I hope you're joking! From what I've seen so far, Yogimus is someone I could get along with; irreverent and succinct.Aglifter wrote:*sigh*. Yogi, that's just pointless blather, devoid of even an attempt to communicate anything remotely pertinent or useful...

All the best pieces of timeless humor require explanation. Alas, I am not immune to this curse.
You stated: "the mods have been doing a heck of a job untangling the messes we make..." implying that our sidetracking of threads make referencing useless. I raised that to a level of absurdity, by referencing rome, circa 200 BC. This absurdity, being in context with your implication of inevitable absurdity, reinforces your statement. Ergo, funny. However, if you prefer, here is a picture of a kitty.

My apologies, that kitty is much too large for this discussion.

A good hijack is entertaining, rational, and bears some relation, however tangential, to the initial subject.
Random kitty photos, or irrational comments about Rome, don't work.
Now, if you had referred to a sea change in public opinion starting from an address by Cicero, that would be different - there may be some form of logic in such a statement.
Nor do reasonable, well-behaved adults deliberately hijack threads. A certain level of laxity functions around here because, to an astounding extent, everyone here is a well-mannered, intelligent, adult.
I admit, I think you've been shown too much indulgence, while waiting for you to mature, but it wasn't my call to make.

Your kitty's problem is not size, it is just not a proper gun-forum kitty.Yogimus wrote:My apologies, that kitty is much too large for this discussion.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure Chris is going to yank it when he sees it due to the animation, but hopefully he'll at least crack a smile as he does it.
