Not having watched the stupid show at all, but I'm surprisingly OK with #4. The writer is an idiot who seems to believe in the 'shoot him in the leg' fallacy.CByrneIV wrote:Like it... 9 out of 10 are from Revolution

Human nature doesn't really accept letting a threat go. (See: Endangered species list)

Especially a threat who is walking away with your food, and is running the 'you'll have to shoot me to stop me' bluff. My momma didn't raise her kids to fail that test. (Disclaimer: I've never seen the show, I'm just going on what's in the article.)Yogimus wrote:Human nature doesn't really accept letting a threat go. (See: Endangered species list)

Re: Anybody watch "Revolution"?
At the point, what I'm going to do has been decided. It's now simply a matter of timing and getting a good angle for the shot.like threaten little girls at knifepoint to try to extort food out of their families.
Of course the Cracked writer has to go into full GFW libitard mode:
Taking a human life is a terrible thing, but I guess there was really no alternative here. It's not like they could have run -- or walked briskly -- up to him and tackled him or anything like that. Maybe tie him up. Beat the shit out of him. Or maybe they didn't want to take any chances because he had a knife. Fine, walk right up to him and shoot him in the leg. Shoot him in both legs and roll him away from the wagon with a long stick.
Or maybe once civilization is gone, there's no percentage in allowing predators to survive and maybe come back later with their pack mates. that the survival or your family is more important than survival of a predator.
Another moral equivalence wanker that doesn't understand the difference between "Violent but protective" and "violent and predatory". Although I'm sure she thought she was like being all ironic and sarcastic and clever and stuff.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

All kinds of non-essentials get shed - first to go are probat bureaucrats, and the pretense that there are degrees of "villains". (All kinds of people can be a criminal, but a villain acts in a fashion which expresses contempt of the rights of others - rob, kill, thieve, murder, grope - same fundamental flaw)
And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our Fortunes, & our sacred Honor

I'm still watching Vegas and Elementary.
Elementary is getting better, but it still seems like they don't know what to do with Lucy Liu. She goes from Completely passive, to motherhenning him. I'm still waiting for Moriarty to show up though.
Vegas is turning out to be the best show of the season - barring Last Resort, as I've only caught bits and pieces of it. Chiklis as Sorvino is perfect - he comes off as Smart and Ruthless, not just a typical thug that is usuallly portrayed in these roles. His explanation on why hitting Lamb was a bad idea to the rest of the "committee" after the blonds father got bent out shape after Lamb slapped him around and arrested him showed just how much of a chessmaster he is.

Now that I think about it, yeah, the pacing was kinda slow. That showed up in the last episode, where el douchbaggo shows up, and you just know he's gonna wind up getting slapped around, but instead of building towards it, they just dragged it out. Personally, until Lamb showed up, I though Savino was going to do it.
As for Elementary, after watching last nights episode, I thought they missed an opportunity - imagine Moriarty as a teenage serial killer, who Holmes keeps trying to catch..

Even with the murder nonsense this is a step up from Christina H's usual stuff, which seems to be mostly "things that bother and only matter to socially awkward people."
Oh, and that scene WAS as terrible as she makes it sound. Godawful editing. I've never seen a more boring assassination on-screen. Her brother's asthma attacks were more compelling. And they weren't. At all.
