Why All The Bashing Over "Cheap" Holsters?

Anyone know a gun close enough to a Mak that I could substitute holsters?
I use Sig 232 holsters for my PA-63.

I really like my Fobus roto. True, I only wear it when I go camping, or when I'm cleaning my other guns, or at an IPSC thing, but I like it a lot.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

+1. The gunshop had a clearance bucket of holsters on show yesterday. I got two very good leather BHP belt holsters for five euro. I could have had some very fine Safariland ones for ten euro each, but they were for guns I don't own...

Own yet Denis, own yet.

I have over $1200 in holsters in my holster bucket, I use few of them. None of the poorly made nylon ones have ever been worth more than a way to keep your gun on your body in an emergency. The bucket is full of pretty much all leather, hence the price wince. Uncle Mike's is the most egregious offender when it comes to crap quality and hard to use.

As for shoulder rigs, I am in the same boat as Randy, until I got the Galco, I thought the idea lacked a practical application. Of course, I love the only IWB that has worked for me, the Cross Breed.

What is considered cheap? What price point? Is a $70 leather holster (sans belt) for a SA revolver considered expensive or cheap?

I'm inquiring only for a monetary amount and not construction...I also have a few "top name brands" that the finished product left a lot to be desired and they were returned because of it--lemons do sneak through!

Illinois, not being a CCW-friendly state, still sells a lot of holsters designed for concealed carry. Funny how that works out.

I did also find out that the IWB holster I picked up for my 649 works even better in the day pack that I use instead of a briefcase for work. It blends in perfectly with the pack and doesn't create any kind of noticeable "I have a handgun!" bulge, either. Sadly, I can't use it in that manner so it's kind of a moot point.

Take a two day or longer defensive handgun course, and you'll have a better idea of constitutes a "good" holster. Especially one where you operate under time pressure, and shoot a simulator or two, or incorporates movement.

Fast, cheap, good. Pick any two.

I tell my clients that. They never laugh.
