Second Amendment Guns...

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Second Amendment Guns...

Post by Flintlock Tom »

A new vendor I stumbled upon while looking for an 1885 Highwall.

The website has some issues, but, they have a wide variety of guns, shooting, camping, survival and generally fun gear.
Apart from the fact that they have the best price on my 1885 I could find, the customer service is exceptional. The owner has kept me up to date on my order with personal e-mails every step of the way. He sent a message this morning that my gun would ship today. :D

The .45-70 Challenge at Rumpshot's Revenge shall belong to me! Bwaahahaha.

It's called a "crescent buttplate" and all of my BP rifles have them.
No problem so far.
Maybe I have an 18th century shoulder? :D

I couldn't think of the right term, so thanks. :D

And it may just be you. I've shot a few crescent butt rifles, and invariably it felt like somebody went at me with an axe.. :o

Ya' know, commercial loads of .45-70 may have slightly more recoil than BP in a .50 muzzle loader.
I will conduct research and photograph the bruises. "Look, mom, we're doin' science!"
