New show on CBS, taking place in Las Vegas in the early 60s, based on real life Rancher turned Las Vegas Sherriff(1961-1979) Ralph Lamb.
Chiklis gives a great performance as smart mob boss Vincent Savino(I particularly like how he reacted to one of men "softening up" a dealer without asking - shows that he's both ruthless AND smart).
You can watch the first episode here.
It isn't the greatest new show I've seen, but it's better than 90% of the crap their putting on this season. This, and Elementary seem to be the only new shows with any promise to them.

I liked it, not thrilled but enjoyed it. Think I'll skip the Holmes reboot.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

I only have 2 words to add to the Holmes reboot...Lucy Liu.

I grew up in Las Vegas and still miss it (not that I want to go back after so many easterners moved there and f*cked it up). I still have some Ralph Lamb politicall stuff; wonder if its a good time to ebay it
It will be nice to see recreations of things the way I remember them if they move forward enough; the flying saucer convention center, Landmark hotel, dusty main streets with many still open lots, McCarran with the gingerbread frontage, plenty of room to park almost everywhere...
