I'd like to know how they acquired "U.S. Army uniforms."

I hope those aren't being sold in the local WalMart.

They may as well be. Aafes.com

Also, a lot of folks get 3 or more sets issued to them upon arrival, that have to have different things sewn on them than their base side uniforms. These uniforms are SUPPOSED to be shredded, but are often just given to the third country nationals working the bases.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say locals were on the perimeter, with Brits and Amerricans on the interior positions.

And again, probably ordered to have "safe" weapons, for the most part

They're not that hard to acquire. Surplus stores, trading for cast-offs, dumpster diving...

Those bases are lousy with local civilian employees and contractors.

I saw the report, saw the pictures of the bodies. Their load out was sizable. They came to fight, and did so. The uniforms were ours. It is enough to gain the initiative and slow down reaction time as you try to discern friend from foe. You have to keep your guard up but they were in the real deal. Sgt Atwell and Lt Col Raible fought with what they had on hand. Semper Fi.

Apology to Yogi. No, I don't like you, but that isn't a reason to be impolite.

When I wrote what I did I'd literally just heard a friend of a friend had been killed over there.
