Never fly United

Incompetent customer service and broke-ass jets. Might get me in trouble. Never again.

I have flown a lot of them including LuftScheisse (Lufthansa). They ALL suck. I think it is just a matter of the draw of Murphy's Law for that flight day. Sometimes the flight goes great, other times it is a nightmare. Now that I have retired and let my Dept. of State Official passport expire in addition to the requirement to be sexually fondled as a condition to fly by the TSA (thousands standing around), I flat out refuse to fly unless it is an absolute emergency necessity. Unfortunately I realize that you don't have that option.

This is not new for United. Back in the 1980's when I worked for the Evil Oil Company, my "client card" at the travel office had the note, "Do NOT book on United Airlines!" Consistently late and lackadaisical (at best) on-board service - and that was on the good flights. After the third cancelled flight, I refused to fly United again.

Lufthansa has been pretty decent, in my limited experience - aside from always running out of drinking water.

We flew Lufthansa last time to Germany. They lost wife's suitcase and got it back a day later. They made up for this though and flew us back in business class. Covoursier congnac. spelling.... anyway, it was on that trip I found out that cognac is like sweetened condensed wine. Had to try it about 4 or 5 times to be sure though.........I'd go with them again.

United lost our luggage when coming back from DC, and then when it finally turned up, my pain medications were gone. Nobody was interested in taking a report so I had a hell-of-a-time getting replacements from my doctor (HMO). The head pharmacist thought I was trying to get extra meds until I finally convinced her to call the airline (I provided the number to the lost baggage people) and verify our luggage had been lost and they refused to take a report (I tired making a stink but it was a losing battle - I was only making myself and my wife upset 'cause they obviously didn't give a shiite). I was finally able to get my Dr. to override the pharmacy biitche and got replacement meds - only 'till my next refill date (which was fine with me).

I will NEVER fly Untied again if I can ever help it!! Afterwards, we found out that we were by NO MEANS ALONE in what happened nor our treatment.

I was going to say I never fly united. Stews get mad and it upsets the other passengers. I think they're jealous.

In mine as well. It's one of the companies I wouldn't be worried to go with again. Though it was some time since I flew with them last.
