No Charges in Colorado Shooting

Post by Jered »

Citing the "make my day" law, officials announced Thursday that no charges will be filed against the man who shot Zoey Ripple, 21, after police say she drunkenly entered his home early Wednesday.
Some college student got drunk and illegally entered the wrong house.

Interestingly enough, she's already been in trouble with the police for shoplifting. She received a deferred sentence, which means she pled guilty.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Multi million dollar home, and they leave the doors unlocked?

We had a drunk guy break into a house here in the Springs a couple of years ago, thinking he was entering his own home (he'd just moved to the neighborhood, IIRC). The homeowners shot him dead for his trouble, and were not charged.

We, rarely, locked the door on our house growing up - I don't know how remote that house was, but if you live in certain situations, by the time someone has made it to the door, whether they break a window, or open the door, they are clearly not there for any good purpose.

And, WHY PUBLISH THE NAMES AND PICTURES OF THE HOME OWNER? Some woman forced her way into their bedroom - they did nothing wrong!

You haven't got those cats trained up to "watch-cat" level yet?

I think in all the years we've had cats, we've probably only had one that would do more than watch from under the bed or in the closet. And poor Rambo died young from feline leukemia. He was quite the cat.

Laugh while you can, one of my neighbors was in the process of being attacked by another neighbors pit bull,
His cat came to the rescue and attacked the pit, chasing it back across the street before he could get chewed on.

The cops showed up before I could get out the door with the shotgun.

As for Ms. Ripple, she probably should have drank a bit less that night. .2 bac is plenty high.

Ours is 4 dogs, an outside motion sensor alarm, and a 10mm. ;) We still lock all of our doors though. It is only common sense and provides those valuable extra few seconds delay to the intruder as well as denying the element of surprise.
