Battle mug - this is a joke right

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

It's no joke. Someone else brought these to the board's attention a short time ago. I went and read about them and i found out that the mug itself is CNC milled from a solid billet to get the mug. Seems like a lot of wasted aluminum just for an empty space. Heck, it'd be a lot cheaper to take the appropriate sized tube, cut some threads into one end, mill an endcap with O-ring installed, then assemble into a mug. Add handles, and all the rails your little heart desires and your done.

But then, who wants to drink really hot coffee out of an aluminum mug?

We've talked about it before.

The Guncounter Song was also created in that thread.

I wouldn't even do that - machine a plug, TIG weld in place, then machine the weld bead down. Hell, if you go to multipiece construction, you could make it using vacuum insulation.

For that kind of money I expect for them to include a sporty English Gentleman's shooting vest (tac'd up with Molle' strips of course).

At first I had no idea what it was. Then I thought "mug" was an acronym for something and I thought about that revolving 4 sided picatinny rail system. I spent a few seconds trying to figure out the acronym for that dealing with "mug".

Then I just read the description and was horrified.
