Re: I Hate Glocks
I shot a Glock once, 30 or so years ago. That's all it took to take an instant dislike to the grip angle. Having to break the line of your wrist to align the sights goes against everything I was taught while being a member of our squadron pistol team. I can pick up a 1911 and just about guarantee I'll hit within an inch of what I'm aiming at. With the Glock, I can't do that. I'm just as likely to put the round in the next county. I'll take that Mustang with the 6 cyl AT anytime.

Less filling. Tastes great.

That analogy hurts to think about. I once was on a several day business trip with a coworker and we had to share a rental car. He picked out the car- you guessed it, a V6 AT Mustang. This was about 10 years ago, so before the latest redesign which much improved the car. That was a dreadful car. Slow, sluggish, heavy, and *amazingly* cramped and uncomfortable inside, made worse by the really crappy interior.tfbncc wrote: I'll take that Mustang with the 6 cyl AT anytime.
And he drove, too, which made it worse - we were working at a customer site that only he had been to before, so it kind of made sense. But immigrants from Bangladesh should not be driving on public roads.

ewwww, not a NEW Mustang, but the original 60's one. My best friend in high school had a '66 notch back, stock. Had a lot of fun in that car.

Re: I Hate Glocks
I laughed, and I'm pretty ambivalent about glocks.. So did the GF and her only exposure to guns at this point is from reading GLOCK: Americas Gun (But I intend to fix that.)
I've shot one on two occasions, and both times I shot acceptably well but it didn't feel particularly natural to me. I agree with Eugene's assessment. That's why I tend to favor the XD. It's a reliable polymer gun that has better point-ability, from my perspective. (from shooting experience only, I do not yet own my own handguns)

I'm thinking the "or so" - the Glock 17 was introduced to the US market till 1986.tfbncc wrote:I shot a Glock once, 30 or so years ago.

Does it matter if we didn't like it a decade ago or a week ago?
