no debt for her. Got her some business cards -- has a couple regular weekly gigs (after school babysitting for a working mom, housekeeping, trying to close deals on more referrals). Auditioned for first professional theater gig in Old Town tonight. Doesn't hold out much hope for this one but good experience to cross that threshold and get herself out in front of them. Just prepping ("If I loved you" from Carousel), going out to a strange stage and giving it a try was a step up for her. If she even gets a callback for so much as a spot in the chorus it'll be a huge win.

Our fingers and toes are crossed for her that she might get a lucky break and/or LEGITIMATE OFFER from someone who recognized her skills/talents, and has decided to giver her a break WITHOUT all the usual Hollyweird BS!!! I used to have a second Aunt who was in the movies, and even though she was NEVER in the top credits (she passed back in the 1980's), she still made SIGNIFICANT income from the studios, even if she didn't have a speaking part. She had several screen names, but we also figured she was well taken care of for other reasons also, even if she NEVER mentioned it - some voluntary, and some NOT so voluntary (which pisses us off).
If *ANYONE* wants to try and throw your daughter on a casting couch, let me know and I'll go and rip their gentiles rip up through their mouth (grabbing their lungs along the way) for ATTEMPTING to abuse your daughter.
I have special things in mind for those who REALLY violate/hurt those I care about (have you ever SEEN your OWN lungs - while they're working).

Unless they're willing to do market research/ intel without cryptography, I'd suggest avoiding a History or Area Studies major.

Having once had a student loan debt these days any time I speak with someone headed for college I warn them against doing the loans and to just get a part time job instead.
