Did that in Taiwan. Couldn't find coke, so it was Taiwan Brandy and Apple Sidra. Tasty combination. Even the girls couldn't drink it fast enough.

Scotch is the nectar of the gods.

Scotch, haggis, bagpipes -- it all fits.

Unfortunately, the story ends there. Their boss threw an industrial-strength gamekill, and since it was a business trip, there was no good end-run.

I tangled with a bottle of Scotch one night in college, and a bunny ended up kicking my ass. The rodent kind, not the Hefner kind. I've kind of stayed away from it since.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Don't go into a Total Wines store. Think of grocery store aisles with Scotch, Rum, Whiskey's/Whisky', wine, more wine, beer, etc. Floor to ceiling stacks.

30 feet of 6 shelves of different scotches equals too many choices without help and a lot of time.

Oh, they have the best prices around too.

This thread has gotten me thinking (generally a bad idea). I've only tried scotch once, many years ago, I tried a single shot of Glenfiddich (and no, I didn't shoot it, I sipped it). It left me nonplussed, but maybe it's time to revisit. I DO like Irish whiskey, and I tend to like stronger flavors in things like beer, coffee and cigars.

Hmmm, cigars and scotch, just seem to go together.

I had to bring this thread back to share something.

The other night a place in Hoboken had an event for Ardbeg single malt scotch. They had little fliers, and it suggested a drink called a "smokey margarita". Yes, single-malt scotch and lime juice, with salt on the glass rim.

That is just SO wrong, on SO many levels.

Today in History
1495 – Friar John Cor records the first known batch of scotch whisky.
