Shocker: 9 Year Old Caught Stealing McCain Signs

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill was tired of someone stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard. Turschak, with a degree in electrical engineering, hooked up a third sign to a power source for an electric pet fence Monday and also put up a surveillance camera.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that a 9-year-old boy with an Obama-Biden sign grabbed the McCain-Palin sign and got a jolt on Tuesday.

The boy's father, Andrew Noble, upset that his son had been shocked, showed up at Turschak's door. Soon an Orange County sheriff's deputy also showed up at the Turschak's home.

Noble said his son just wanted to see how the sign was put together. Turschak said the boy intended to swap out the signs.

Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass said he doesn't plan to file charges.

Check the video. The kid has a Obama sign with him. Kind of obvious what his intent was.

I'm surprised more people haven't done this. My first impulse would be to put a camera on the sign and rig it some way, if not with electricity so with one of these, or something to the same effect.

The difference here is the guy knew what he was doing and used a device which is safe to use on small animals (or kids).

Consider the lessons libtard dad is teaching his kid. It's okay to mess with other people's property/steal; if you get caught, lie to the police and others; if you get hurt or are injured while screwing around on someone else's property where you have no right to be, confront the owner because you're not happy things didn't go your way - EVEN IF IT'S CAUGHT ON TAPE. Lie, lie, lie, it's all good and okay.

Depends on what the laws are like for trespassing in North Carolina and what the homeowner is responsible for if the trespasser is injured while committing an unauthorized act. I think the video could also be his saving grace since the kid CLEARLY isn't injured more than some shocked fingers and a bruised ego (which his dad no doubt is feeding his pain).
