Need Help Finding Truck Part

Post by skb12172 »

I need two new wiper ARMS for a 1991 Toyota pickup. Not blades, but the arms. I've struck out at Auto Zone, Napa, and all the other national and local parts stores. Nothing at the local junkyards. Nothing on the intarwebs. The local Toyota dealership can get me a pair, but it'll take a month and cost me $170. If I have to I will, but I'd rather not.

HAYULP! :o

Please and thank you.

Is there a rush on these to get SOMETHING on them, or can you take the time to ensure you get the right parts? My downhill next-door neighbor knows someone who might have access to some "retired" Toyota pickup parts. We're still waiting for him to let us know if he found the left-side swivel-arm for my wife's tail-gate on her SR5 pickup, but that doesn't mean he might not have something like those readily available.

Is there anything else we need to know to make sure we are looking for the right arms (SR5, 4x4, 2x4, spline attachment or set-screw fitting, etc., etc.)? Do you know if any other year wiper arms might be compatible and/or acceptable???

Try here http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

I found several at wreckers there for $15-$20. Although you would probably have to add shipping. Or you could try a local wrecker or you-pull-it.

I just checked Rockauto's website, and they appear to sell every part of the wiper assembly BUT the arm.

If the trouble with the originals is the splines are worn out, just drill and pin them.

No, the trouble is vandalism. They were torn off and the driver's side window was busted. The link above had what I was looking for, at around $20-$25 per arm. If they can actually deliver what is listed in the inventory, I will be very grateful. Thanks, everyone.
