It was a successful trip and the finale was record setting. The deputy asked if he could check out our guns after we reassured him we were just shooting reactive targets.
At a guess 10k rounds went down range.... I know that I am down 600 rounds of .308, 300 of 5.56, 1000 of .22, 400 of 10mm, 400 of .45 ACP and 400 shotshells were fired from my Saiga.
Eugene provided very successful air interdiction even though it was the sneaky ants who did for him in the end.
21 folks showed up and I would say it was the most successful for a while. Thanks to Wizard and Jim and Rod for all the hard work and for the land. Wizards family is lovely and cook a mean BBQ!

Yep, it was definitely lots of fun. Several new / inexperienced shooters got to try out stuff they hadn't seen before. The local avian scavengers have declared the place a 'No Fly' zone. I can't imagine why.
It was even funny when Doc Russia broke my Evil Black Bunny Gun.
(Don't worry about it, Doc. That flash hider was over 30 years old, and poor quality plastic even when it was new.)

The scene from "Snatch" linked to below popped into my mind shortly before I liberated the airspace of disease carrying airborne macro-organisms.CombatController wrote:It was a successful trip and the finale was record setting. The big bang theory video is up. I couldn't transfer it to my computer first, so you get my goofy monologue while waiting for the big moment.
CC's shooting fiesta. big bang theory
Fun kicks off about 1:20.

Made it back to El Paso in almost exactly 13 hours, Alvin hotel to driveway. Temp was 75 when I pulled out of town, hit Kerrville and temp started dropping and I had a bit of heavy rain; ended up at 55 degrees. I hit snow around Sierra Blanca (100 miles from El Paso) and had to slow down considerably. Rained the last 40 miles.
Someone more eloquent than I needs to post the after-action report. I just want to say three things; first, I enjoyed seeing 6 new (or semi-new) shooters having so much fun; second, 8 pounds of tannerite has a huge "kill zone" and 60 yards is NOT enough distance; we might have at least two more members of the board.

I prefer to think of it as the "fun zone"
