If you look at it it's not that bad. It comes in black/asphalt and navy/asphalt. It doesn't look like it's all mall ninja'd up.

I'll see about taking a picture; I found an un-padded bag for $20 in a plumbing supply store labeled "Pipe Cleaner" that was long enough for my rimfires. I added some remnants of a closed cell foam pad I got for $5, and Voila! "stealth gun case."
As for drawing tubes, this place http://www.draftingsteals.com/catalog-p ... tubes.html
has cheap drawing tubes with slings, in the sub $20 range, but the maximum inside diameter is 4.25 inches.
Oh, wait, there's one with an Id of 6.75 for $97.
I'll have to look into Durham69's tripod case.

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.

"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Actually, if you watch the musicians leave after the symphony performance, that one looks exactly like a serious violin case.Durham68 wrote:I like the idea of a violin case. I wear business atire 6 days a week and work in an urban area. I was thinking something like this for my new AR. It doesn't look much like a violin case, but I like the staps/carry handle and outside pocket.
Also... any idea what you would call a bag like that if it didn't carry a violin? I was thinking it would be better to have a 24"-26" version and pack the upper and lower seperately. 30"+ is long for any kind of case/pack to be carried around comfortably.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

blue and gray gym bag. broken down M4 with old tennis ball jammed over muzzle. 2 halves wrapped in towel. 3 mags wrapped in towel. Gym shoes, t-shirt, gym shorts, jock strap and socks on top.
You've probably seen me.

It's the jockstrap and socks on top that makes this truly covert. . .D5CAV wrote:blue and gray gym bag. broken down M4 with old tennis ball jammed over muzzle. 2 halves wrapped in towel. 3 mags wrapped in towel. Gym shoes, t-shirt, gym shorts, jock strap and socks on top.

There was a woman in our neighborhood who regularly bought Swiss watches back in the 60's and the bottom of her diaper bag or under the used Kleenex was her favorite places. . .

My buddy The Mad Stylist ordered one, I am waiting to see it before pulling the trigger on one, so to speak. I am going to try a number of rifles in it just to see....

Doh! Hit submit too fast. I now have two choate folding stocks for the M1a and want to try them in it too. My SOCOM 16 is very short and should slide right in. Might even be able to pop the 18" scout in there. Report to follow on those two as well as my tiny handgun review. I've just been busy and haven't taken the time to do my range reports yet.

huh. Just found a new one... Dang. This is why I am going to wait to see the other one. Although both might end up eventually... This looks more like a backpack than the 5.11 IMHO.

Ok, while waiting to see my buddies 5.11 bag I went an hour ago and bought a Wilson 3-6 racquet bag. Some eggshell and presto! It holds a Saiga 12 with stock folded, AK folders. Galil folders, M1a SOCOM folder and an AR Pistol. Lots of room in the external pocket for mags and if you expand it to 6 racquets you can add extra foam and you can carry two rifles or a rifle and a shotgun. Pretty fun. Pics to follow. Not super practical but definitively stealthy. Could probably walk anywhere without metal detectors and go unnoticed.

Re: Covert rifle carry
Just got this guitar case at bookmans for $12. The girl at the counter asked me what kind of guitar I played. I was feeling froggy so I told her her AK-47.
