I'm pretty light on equipment, but put me down for 100 bucks for the kitty.

And a surprise reorganization at work has me missing the shindig this year. I'll leave out the details due to OPSEC, but my workplace just switched from being like "The IT Crowd" to full-blown "General Hospital".

Re: Shooting Fiesta
Are there ay plans for the Austin crowd to convoy down to the site? I've got Friday and Monday off that weekend, I was thinking about going down on Fri. Also, where exactly is the site?
At this point I'm looking at bringing the Enfield family, my AR-15, my Saiga, and my 10-22 for rifle fun. For pistols, it will probably be my P89, Smith 617 & 625, and my Colt 1903. I may bring one or both of my shotguns also.
I can bring hand tools and a stapler to help with setting up targets. I'm looking at camping on site using a truck tent in the back of my truck.

I regret to report that Little Sister and I will not be able to attend; finances are tight this month. This year is the first since 1972 that I've actually owed the Fedgov on income tax.
If CC will PM his address, I will send along a contribution to the cause.
(sigh) Maybe next time.

Jim S, Wizard and I walked the site yesterday and got the land cleared and plan for putting up the berms. We have a BBQ smoker and target frames being made as well.
I'll leave it up to Wiz to post the details.
Can I get a head count? Looks like Saturday setup and hanging out and Sunday shooting. Sound good'?

Hell, I'm getting in Thursday, isn't there a way to get set up so we can at least shoot Saturday afternoon and Sunday? [pout]After all, I AM coming a LONG way for this.[/pout]

Re: Shooting Fiesta
Weather permitting, I'll have a trailer full of toos n' equipment out there as early as Wednesday.
I think we can get about all the setup done well before Saturday, so it should be an open range at that point.
We DO need Mr. Wiz to post the physical address here, so y'all can plug it into your GPS. Along with that, I'm going to affix some conspicuous, but unintelligable signage to various utility poles and fenceposts leading into the venue. Soon as I buy the necessary materials, I'll tell you all what kind of smoke I'll have popped on the LZ, so you can track it in from the nearest major road and intersection.
For you campers.......on site, there is an old shed, about 20'x30', with about 3-1/2 good sides, 95% of a good roof, and some not-quite-ready-for-prime-time ground.....( unlevel, broken, large fissures ).... if you have a cot, it'll be no problem...but, you'll have shelter, and if you aggregate heaters (if needed), it'll be better than camping in the raw.
Decent food is only a 5 to 7 minute drive. GOOD food is about 12-15 minutes.
Maximum distance will be 100 yds at most, sad to say. Safety, and lack of physical dirt berms at greater distances dictates. If you have a 1,000 yd. Boomershoot rifle, this isn't the best showplace for it, but you're still welome to embarass the rest of us with asprin-sized groups at 100?
Maybe you blackpowder afficianados can bring a spare pound or three? And an anvil to launch?
Just a thought.
Anyway, I'll post a gun n' ammo list in a subsequent post.
Oh, and I've got the thought for a good shooting stage, but need help in refining it. It'd be the "hold my beer and watch this!" stage. Question is, what to set up, and safely !

Re: Shooting Fiesta
