My wife's grandpa was in town and staying with us, so I didn't get time to mess with them till this week. We spent the whole time he was here in the backyard cutting down/trimming trees and tilling and building raised beds and moving dirt. The old man can work me into the ground!
Anyway, once I opened my box of sights I noticed immediately that the quality was not up to every other Magpul product I've held or owned. They did not feel like the displayed sights at all, and felt rather flimsy. Also there were little bits of plastic that needs to be trimmed all along the mold lines, none of the other Magpul stuff I've looked at has been that way.
So I look on the box, and see that it's made by Magpul Professional Training & Simulation and I google that, and here's what I found:
So it's "real" Magpul, just made specifically for airsoft and not real steel rifles. Grrrr...MAGPUL PTS
Magpul Professional Training & Simulation (PTS) was established in 2007 to meet worldwide demand for airsoft-compatible Magpul accessories. Based in Hong Kong, Magpul PTS provides high quality airsoft products suitable for both non-lethal training applications and civilian airsoft sporting use. By maintaining the same basic form and function as Magpul weapon components, PTS equipment allows users to safely practice drills and perform scenarios without the use of live weapons or ammunition.

I'm not too pissed at myself, because I mainly bought them to use on my Saiga 12 gauge. They don't work as they are too high, so at least I'm not out $100 for a "real" pair of sights. And I may put them on my Crosman M417 when it arrives (M4 looking pellet rifle) so it's not totally wasted.
I have since seen the same stuff on eBay for $25ish. So watch out if you run across a "good" deal on Magpul stuff, it might be the PTS/airsoft stuff.
