AFC Championship Game - Fly Over
Some type of cargo plane did the fly over before the game.. I've not seen them use a cargo plane before. Is it safe to assume all the fighters are in the gulf region in preparation for Iran? Or is this due to people complaining about wasting money?

What aircraft was it?
If you want to see the taxpayer's money at work, you should be here in town for Air Force home games, especially when one of the other service academy teams is visiting--everything in the Air Force inventory just happens to drop in to participate in stadium flyovers. VERY impressive. Since I live near the flightline into the local AFB, most of them then fly past my house when coming in to refuel before heading back wherever they came from.

The vast majority of flyovers are done by Reserve or NG units... And even in a total war situation where we were going after China, Iran, North Korea and more, there would still be plenty of planes here at home to do such things.Ben Rumson wrote:Is it safe to assume all the fighters are in the gulf region in preparation for Iran?

Even (or maybe especially) during such a war, any major high visibility national event is going to have an Air Sovereignty Alert Patrol nearby if not overhead. You could always have a couple of them make the flyby.

I missed the flyover. I was in the bathroom puking after hearing Steven Tyler botch the National Anthem.

A gun is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

It would be amusing to do a UAV flyover. The FAA would freak out at the thought.

Maybe a formation of Predators with a Global Hawk following up and little behind and a little higher (like a big brother watching over his siblings)?? LOL!!Mike OTDP wrote:It would be amusing to do a UAV flyover. The FAA would freak out at the thought.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad
