Absolutely 100% true! Some of us are struggling against the current tide, but our numbers seem to be dwindling. Our neighbors just don't care anymore and don't want to be bothered with the fight...they are either too busy or too apathetic...and the ranks of the useless grow with ever graduating class from our public schools. These kids have been taught that the government owes them stuff...that that is what government is for and why we pay taxes.FelixEstrella wrote:Don't blame the government, necessarily. WE THE PEOPLE have stopped being self-reliant and independent and have become addicted to entitlements, and soft living.
Turn WE THE PEOPLE around and we can hold this thing off. Otherwise, the government will provide.
BTW, I think it's inevitable. If you stop requiring people to be responsible for themselves and their survival, socialism will take root.
Socialism is already here and takes deeper root every year. It might be stopped if the whole house of cards came falling down all at once. It is the incrementalism that is going to be our undoing...much liked the story of the frog in the pot of water. Toss the frog in a pot of boiling water and he will jump out, put him in a pot of room temperature water and turn up the heat slowly and he will just sit there and poach himself. Most of our fellow citizens don't know or don't care what is going on and when they finally do realize what is happening it is going to be way too late...it will be all over but the cryin'.
