Close to Home

Post by Frankingun »

This happened way to close to my house for comfort. Good news is, the perp is down, don't know what will happen to the manager who saved the day.

This year, the state legislature opened up the carry laws a bit, and one thing is that an employer can't do anything to you (legally anyway) for keeping your piece in your car. They can still ban it in their buildings and elsewhere on their grounds. And of course they can always make something up to can you. Which Kroger did to a relative of mine over another matter.

Probably been discussed before but I'll throw it out anyway. When does a store cease being private property and become semi-public property? A store is owned/rented by someone, they are required by law to allow all customers in (with certain VERY limited boundaries), they make policy because of possibility of lawsuits, policy then abrogates the rights of another group of people.

What we really need is to get businesses to be strictly liable for the safety of people if they disarm them.
Then the #$%^%$# retarded insurance companies will rape them in rates for preventing legal CCW instead of
giving them breakes for being "gun free zones"

Well, mum's the word so far, with the New Year holiday this weekend, we probably won't know much more until the middle of next week.

Good on the employee for not being a victim and ignoring a stupid policy. All my employees are actually encouraged to carry.
