Android Tablet troubleshooting

Post by blackeagle603 »

The tablet I got last August runs 2.2 and has started acting up.

First noticed problems in Kindle when it wouldn't sync at all with Amazon store purchases now. When I go to Kindle store, up comes a security certificate caution pop-up, clear that and shortly it will in bomb and shutdown Kindle app before getting anything useful done.

Now I see security certificate conflicts coming up on all manner of mainstream sites (facebook, amazon, et al) but they seem to run ok.

Not quite sure how to proceed with troubleshooting from here. Any ideas?

Which AV and AntiMal software are you running? There has been a sharp rise in the amount of malicious stuff made for Android.

I've been using Lookout and haven't had any problems (yet).

It's Viewsonic G2. I'm just running as delivered. Just now trying to figure out what's there in the baseline config and how to affect it. I was hoping there's some update I could run from Viewsonic but coming up empty so far at their site.

The Android Marketplace has a few free antimalware programs. I'd try that first. They are far from perfect, but it's a start.

I would say that a backup and restore would be a good thing to try...

How to do that with an Android?
