Fun Fact: The cancer that killed Wayne may have been caused by the location they used to film The Conqueror (St George, Utah) were downwind of the Nevada nuclear test site. There were detonations during filming.

As TR was the only one to see actual combat... (And, frankly, be bizarrely aggressive, and incompetent at it...)

After that, he took up something "safer" than boxing. Judo.
He delivered a 90 minute speech after being shot during an assassination attempt.
The infamous Maxwell House slogan "Good to the last drop" came from TR.
The original bayonet for the 1903 Springfield was a rod bayonet, but was changed to a conventional blade bayonet after he sent a letter to the secretary of war.
He tried to raise a volunteer regiment in 1917 to fight in WW1. Wilson turned him down.
After TR died in 1919, then Vice President Thomas Marshall wrote "Death had to take him sleeping, for if Roosevelt had been awake there would have been a fight."
Makes one wonder if we'll see the likes of him ever again in the Whitehouse.
