Every time I try to come back to EA, they do something else to make me not like them all over again.

If this crap is linked with Mass Effect 3, I think I'll pass. I was ticked enough with how they babyfied Mass Effect 2 so that most of the gear to be bought could only be equipped on the main character. They took a great game and console converted it. The story was fun, but I can't help but wonder how they're going to water down the gear looting and power imrpovements in the 3rd one since they are guaranteed to feel that they just must take what was done in Mass Effect 2 and make it "simpler".

I actually liked all the changed they made to ME2, other than the planet scanning. I know that the whole "looty lewts of l00t" is a standard RPG convention but it seemed very out of place in that setting. Having a high ranking military officer sift through piles of individual guns and armor sets was just silly.

1.) Yep, ME3 is tied to Origin. But you can buy a hard copy; they're just going to have a special deal for people who preorder through Origin. This is probably for multiplayer support more than anything else.

2.) Bioware has stated they're going to put more crap in, not less.

Having said that, I always did appreciate the fact that ME2 didn't bog you down with vendor trash. Turian armor that doesn't fit Garrus' class, never finding new Quarian armor, 30 million useless suits of human armor, obsolete ammo and armor mods... blech.

I'm glad that the combat AI got more advanced than a run-straight-at-you-while-firing and that my teammates no longer have a death wish.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

To be fair, both games have trailers that feature people with guns and a really annoying sound effect for the soundtrack:

Modern Warfare 3
HRRRRRRRRRNG

Battlefield 3
PVV PVV PA PVV PVVVVV

Yeah. MW3's also the one that looks like every bad 90's action movie threw up, and they scraped the results into a DVD drive.
