I liked it and I don't think it deservs the ire it is receiving by some.
Its overall plot is summed up in its title but the plot, characters, acting and direction were all solid. It was in short good summer fun that was no nearly as brain dead as the Transformer movies.
And most of the so called "plot holes" are either not relevent to the story or in fact did have an explanation in the script.

Went to see it this afternoon, and it was fun! Not anything deep or meaningful or anything like that, just a fun movie! And I had a good time watching the handguns (Is that an 1860 Colt, or an 1870 Richards conversion? Did that SAA have a blackpowder frame?)
I enjoyed it, and The Boss really liked it, or maybe she was just pleasantly surprised that it wasn't awful.

Saw it. The effects were well done, the CGI aliens looked great(growing up on Star Wars/Aliens and such that used animatronics and puppets I have a severe dislike of some of the CGI used over the years, like the cartoonish first Hulk movie). Ford played the part of the grisseled Army Colonel turned business man well. In all it was a great shoot'm up movie, just don't expect Citizen Kane.

If that was the case, then the movie probably would have been titled "Scabs Who Want To Screw You Out of Your Rights and Undocumented Foreign Persons Just Trying to Organize Peacefully." They'd probably have naming rights as part of their contract.Flintlock Tom wrote:Now that you mention it, they did look similar to SEIU members.

Are you saying that Olivia Wilde has [strike]Bette Davis[/strike] Marty Feldman eyes?

The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

What he said.Cybrludite wrote:Hey, it had lots & lots of antique guns. And aliens. And stuff blowing up. It's called "Cowboys vs. Aliens" for a reason, and it delivers exactly what it says on the tin. "Dr. Zhivago" it ain't, but it was well worth the price of a weekday matinee ticket.
It was "dad-and-son-night-out" for us. I and Jr Termite met my friend and his 14yr old son for dinner & a movie. We ate Tex-Mex, then saw the movie. Harrison Ford does an excellent job. And Olivia Wilde is HAWT.
However, Jr Termite agrees that Olivia Wilde is "50 pasta meals shy of her ideal weight", as KdT once stated.
