(not your normal) Holster recommendation

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Get your fedora and take the wayback machine to 1960. What's the holster you pick for this piece?

Vertical shoulder rig? OWB?

Just the facts, Ma'am.

Colt Cobra?

There's a guy who's listing one of those on one of the local firearms sites for $350.

I'm tempted...

No holster but a shoulder holster is appropriate with a fedora.

If you're read W.E.B. Griffen much. There's a character who carries I think it was a Cheif's Special? Small, 5 round cylinder with a stub for a barrel, in an ankle holster. Seems to me you could take your coat off if it was riding on one ankle instead of on the waist or under an armpit.

1960's man would not take off his jacket in public. ;)

The barrel up is a bit much for me. Might have to do the compromise for a Miami Classic type rig or perhaps Simply Rugged's new shoulder rig. I do wonder about an ankle holster though.
