Please elaborate. Should we put an armed guard on your flags? ;)
The last two years, my flag disappeared just before the 4th. The halyard was still tied securely. My flagpole is not that tall, I suspect a stepladder was used to liberate my flag. Both times it was a nearly new flag.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like it's time for a claymore setup with a tripwire set to the bottom flag mount (much less likely the flag itself will trip it and by the time the turds discover it, it'll almost be too late). We might have to clean the flag, pole, and some of the surrounding area (the scavenger birds will get the rest), but I GUARANTEE nobody else will EVER screw with your flags ever again!!

Instead of a claymore, some foogas will probably do the same and then their buddies can watch them running around like human torches. ;) ;) 8-)

I noticed a few more neighbors replaced their flags this weekend. Now I need to get the guy at the top of the hill, the beginning of our street, to replace his heavily faded and beginning-to-tear-flag.

I have a spare with a certificate from the local Congressman's office stating that flag (the one in the box) had actually flown over the capitol. Perhaps if I give him the flag in the box AND the certificate, he might decide to change it to display the new flag (he's retired Navy, after all).

Almost everyone else in the neighborhood displaying a flag has a bright, shiny flag, and there are even several service flags flying alongside the American Flag. When you see that many in your neighborhood, it really makes you proud of your fellow neighbors and the people who make up the good ol' USA (we won't discuss all the ungrateful turds in the cities)!!

Well, I replaced the flag this morning, only to discover I'd bought a 4'x6' instead of the usual 3'x5'. Too big for the angled flagpole by the door (and of course I had tossed the receipt), so I folded it and put it in the closet, and bought another 3'x5' to put in its place. Maybe I'll put a full flag pole in the yard.
