I would probably have to endorse the Kahr PM45
There is also the taurus PT-145
I am planning on getting a pocket pistol myself, and I may have to revisit using .45 acp.
I had been considering either a Taurus 738 or a Kimber Solo, but I already have plenty of .45 auto and not adding a cartridge to my stocks would be nince. There is also the tactical principle that you should always "bring enough gun."

+1 on the M&P. I love my M&P45c in ways that I didn't think I could ever love a plastic fantastic bottom feeder. I've seen them floating around for under $500, mine will eat any ammo I get, and the 'compact' model does have a four-inch barrel. I carry eight in the mag, one in the chamber, and two loaded ten-round mags on my off side. If there was any way to meet up, I'd let you put a box of ammo or two through it.
