Wizard is in the member roster, so he has found his way. Should hear from him soon, I hope.blackeagle603 wrote:Maybe I scanned this thread too fast. Has the kid (Wizard) checked in? Be a shame if he lost track of this crew while away serving.
Many thanks to all ya'll for setting up this recovery group for former Gunthing addicts.

Re: Introduce Yourselves
I'm from Wisconsin and a Vietnam vet, hence the username.
I like motorcycling and reloading. After 35 years with a RCBS Rockchucker, Chris's blog got me into a Hornady progressive loader and his posts on the AR got me to buy a AR. Now I have a new rifle and a press. Now I just have to stock up on components, magazines, etc. before the next election.

Other nomme du nette include Yeti, Gunboat Diplomat, and Collector
I design IP and VoIP transport for a large service provider and some less interesting financials. I have a better wife than I deserve (this Oct it'll be 24 years) and a couple of kids.
I like the folks here. I used to be a serious milsurp collector but for the last decade or two it's pretty much shotty guns.
I know that web-drama can make people nuts, so I try to avoid it.

A combination of getting stuck doing other stuff, being too lazy to bother with the hassle of registration, and Mail.com not wanting to cooperate with the activation email me.morsetaper wrote: 'Bout time you got here.

Gents, Ladies
I am your humble Factfind..er.
I am a gentleman in his mid fifties who is a long time pistol shooting competitor and afficianado.
Politically conservative, interested in everything, and in particular the preservation of our freedoms and way of life. I admire the thinkers of the enlightenment. I admire the "founding fathers," and think their presence in one epoch and in this country a matter of divine providence.
I do not give a damn for modern liberal "thought," viewing it as an abdication of personal virtue, personal responsibility and an abject apology for moral cowardice.
I like dogs. I do not like people who do not like dogs.

Yeah, they're a pain in the ass. I turned off all the spam software and it still does it. It took a half dozen "Please resend initialzation email" attempts before it finally got through. I pretty much only use it as a "public" email.

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Jim Dozier finally checking in - I migrated from that other forum several days ago , but have just been procrastinating.
Former Navy Submarine Force, (1961-1969) got out as ET1(SS) and went to college. BSChE from Clemson University in 1974 (hence CU74 moniker - been using it for years and too dang old to change). Spent 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area working for Evil Big Oil. Now retired and living in eastern Kansas.
I am a Conservative Constitutionalist with libertarian leanings. I used to have a little money, but my C&R FFL took care of that problem. I enjoy shooting, reloading and simple WECSOG projects. (And I'm still waiting for Eugene and Aesop to show up here.)

I'm not crazy about Gmail - I'm not fond of the privacy issues regarding the scanning of email for targeted advertising.

Hey, at least with Mail.com I can at least PRETEND that my email isn't read by others.
Gmail puts paid to that little fantasy.
