Hat tip to Moogie.
Battle economists/rappers. Actually does a pretty good job of laying out my problems with Keynes.
This is the best paraphrase I've seen of Keynes vs Hayek

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom,...Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you...; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Damned Kenyans, err Keynesians.
Years from now our children and grandchildren living in a 3rd world America will ask "What were you doing on March 21st 2010 and why didn't you stop it?"

And now there a part two.
Seems to me, however, the people who understand economics fairly well already lean towards Hayek, and everyone wants Keynes to be right and the wishful thinkers tend to out number the educated. Still, the video is funny, watch it, see who wins, and note the aftermath.

Logic and Reason VS Hope and Change
Keynes was disproved/dissected out years ago but the political classes love to add Keynesian legitimacy to their ill conceived tinkering.

The only economic theory I ever heard about in high school was Keynes. And it was not a very thorough analysis, just an overview of how important his theories have been historically. I cant recall ever being taught anything remotely close to market economy. The closest thing was probably a few lessons in how to balance your personal budget, and that was in senior high school.arctictom wrote:Keynes was disproved/dissected out years ago but the political classes love to add Keynesian legitimacy to their ill conceived tinkering.
If you're a career politician you already want more power, and naturally you will use whatever theory that will give that end result. And you'll do your best to make sure that as few people as possible learn anything about any other option.
The left here has always been suspicious of higher education, very few of their leaders have any kind of college education.

Both videos are terrific. One of the producers, Russ Roberts, is a co-blogger with Don Boudreaux at Cafe Hayek, one of the best econ blogs on these here Interwebs.
