FBI: Justifiable homicides at highest in more than a decade

Post by JustinR »

From USA Today of all places:

FBI says more police and civilians are defending themselves. However, the FBI only counts shootings that were "precipitated by felony crimes" so the actual number I'm sure is much higher. Comments to the article are the usual drool-fest.

i cannot imagine how a justified homicide would be possible unless the dead guy were involved in a felony...

other than that... i am very pleased with this story and i can only hope that the trend continues until scumbags are on notice that they have a very short lifespan if they continue their careers...

If it's JUSTIFIABLE homicide, what's not to like if they're up? That means those committing the attacks are being whacked at a higher rate than in the past, probably 'cause there's more CCWs out there.

What's not to like????

Well, in TX, we have considerably more freedom to defend our rights... EG, in TX, if you look outside and see a bunch of men in white hoods, burning a cross, you don't have to wait until they've actually started lynching you to defend yourself, as in TX, their engaged in criminal mischief at night -- likewise if a gang of MS13 members is running around, smashing your doors, and windows, etc, you can go ahead and defend yourself.

However, in other states, those crimes may or may not be felonies -- the MS13 members may be declared to have only been engaging in vandalism, and, provided the Klan brought their own cross, their not doing anything other than trespassing.

I imagine these will continue to rise, as long as the number of CCW permits increase, until we hit a saturation point in the population, when all crime would collapse... unfortunately, w.o. open/permitless carry, and a massive education/normalization project, it's unlikely...

Does this mean that, in the future, ammunition spent on shooting bad guys can be tax-deductible? I mean I pay the government to shoot bad guys, foreign and domestic, and if us citizens have to take the time and effort to kill them ourselves, I at least want to reimbursed.

Probably not going to be allowed Eugene. Too bad.

As for the shooting going up, the crime is going down... Remember, for every felon caught for a crime, there are 8 crimes he will never be held accountable for. It is an exponential decline, the numbers prove it, and should continue to do so.

So that's why violent crime is increasing here in the chi-pit. Number of police decline as Daley spends big money trying to win the olympic games, contracts get sidelined and support personnel get laid off as Stroger hires his relatives to 6-figure jobs, and of course effective self defense is forbidden, unless you are connected or an aldercreature.

We are so fortunate to be kept safe from the depredations of evil guns by hizzoner. Just imagine how much different things would be if he didn't work so hard at it.

Probably not worth the effort to file for the tax deduction for just a few "removals".

I love how the Supreme court carved out a right to gun ownership...
