A very good friend of mine makes traditional English yew longbows.

I would always tease him that what he was making was an abomination, a weapon that some scummy rebellious peasant could use to kill a noble lordly knight of the ruling elite, despite the knights martial prowess and extremely expensive armour

And he still made me a bow as a gift - I guess he knew I was joking :D

That's something that doesn't make sense. Hand to hand combat is WAY more brutal than shooting someone from afar. Watching your victim as his eyes go wide and his mouth is gasping for his last breath as you plunge you laser-sword into his chest that's civilized?

And what about the dismemberment? Cutting your foe in half, or taking his arms and legs off? That's somehow civilized?
Obviously the force is weak in this one...

Ya know I used to be a big fan boy until the new ones came out.

Lucas should have stayed as far away from the project as possible.

You know what REALLY works GREAT for memory erasing? Getting knocked out.

The brain had a tremendous capability of removing traumatic events from your memory if they lead to something like losing consciousness. People who actually get knocked out RARELY remember the events directly leading up to losing consciousness. So when someone tells you they were doing this and that and then they lost consciousness - they're full of crap and lying to you.

It's almost like those who like to play unconscious inside some restaurant to avoid paying the bill and you pick up their hand and try to drop it on their face. The unconscious person will have their hand smack them in the nose while the faker will almost ALWAYS find a way to not let their hand hit them in the face. It can be almost comical as they keep doing various maneuvers to make sure their hand can't hit their own face as you keep moving it up and dropping it (and even directing it to hit them in the face), but they won't let it happen - particularly if they'd been drinking. It can get DAMN FUNNY!!

Someone's who's REALLY unconscious won't be able to control their limbs and extremities, much less direct them to somewhere else - yet when you hold their own hand over their own face and drop it so it'll hit them on the nose if they don't stop it, you can REALLY tell the difference if their conscious or not.

I kid you not, it's hilarious to the degree these people will go to to continue playing their "unconscious" game. I'm sure Paw-Paw has some good stories. I KNOW LawDog does!
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I have two things to say about this.
I like the "flashy thing" from men in black, and think that the noisy cricket would be a great CCW.

And oh my God George Lucas raped Indiana Jones

Of course they exist. You think the Charge of the Light Brigade would use *heavy* sabers?

I think you may have just hit on why Brits would answer that question they way they did - for all I know, there are both heavy and light sabres.
