Of course, they spun it as hard as they could.. and then they basically said what was said above, like it was an, oh, by the way, the firing was upheld.
Is it just me, or does anyone else see the glaring discrepancies between the MSM's treatment of the Palin "Troopergate", and their treatment of the Clinton "Troopergate"?

No, it's not just you. We KNOW the media is already in the tank for Smell-O-ramabama.

I'd say you can expand that to all Dem's. How much attention has the story of Mark Foley's successor's sex scandal gotten in the MSM?

Or the ACORN voter registration fraud... they just found 4000 bogus registrations by ACORN in Cleveland alone...

And the Demonrats talk about how the election was "stolen" in 2000 and 2004... the Demonrat election strategy is: "Vote early, vote often!"

Do you believe in life after death? The Demonrats do... a lot of dead people vote for them!

In more recent developments, it looks like our governor has really stepped in it again. If you remember, the Palins opposed the subpoenas issued by the legislative committee for their investigation, on the grounds that the firing of Monegan was outside of their purview, and that the proper body to handle the investigation was the state personnel board. Essentially, Palin had filed a complaint against herself with the board, which is made up of her appointees, in the hopes of de-railing the legislative investigation headed by Steve Branchflower (whose report instigated this thread), and steering it to a body over which she could exercise some control.

Well, it turns out that the personnel board actually took their investigation seriously, and hired another outside investigator to handle it, an attorney who happens to be a democrat. And as they have dug deeper into the case, they've now announced that the scope of their investigation is being widened to include other matters concerning the Palins. Also unlike the legislative investigation, which is going to fade away with no action (repubs control the legislature), the personnel board investigation might actually result in legal penalties, or even criminal charges. And this is a result of the complaint that Palin filed against herself.

Ouch. Be careful how you treat people on your way up.

my understanding is that the state has spent some $100,000 + to investigate an ethics issue with a maximum penalty of a $5,000 fine... good job there...

As you should anyway, 'cause you NEVER know when something ill-advised may come back to bite you later.

Perhaps a better lesson is NEVER file a complaint against yourself.
